Safespots recognises the risks that self isolation poses to victims of domestic abuse and lock down is an incredibly concerning time for many in our community.

  • Does your friend or loved one appear to be scared of their partner?
  • Do they seem more anxious or withdrawn than normal?
  • Does their partner/ family member constantly check up on them?
  • Is their partner jealous and possessive?    
  • Is their partner charming one minute and abusive the next?
  • Does their partner telling them what to wear, where to go, who to see?
  • Does their partner constantly put them down?
  • Does their partner play mind games and make them doubt their judgment?
  • Does their partner control the money?
  • Does their partner pressure on them to have sex when they don’t want to?
  • Are they starting to walk on eggshells to avoid making their partner angry?
  • Does their partner monitor or track their movements or messages?
  • Does their partner use anger and intimidation to frighten and control them?
  • Have you noticed any injuries or bruises on your friend or loved one recently?
